Pieces made to fit your life
Making pieces that fit into someone's life is at the heart of what I do. Whether you're looking for your dream chopping board, a board sized to suit your kitchen, a made-to-measure worktop or a fully bespoke piece of furniture, I'm always happy to take on commissions that reflect your style and needs.
We can explore different hardwoods, patterns and construction methods to find the right combination for your piece. Think about the size, shape and details you'd like, and I'll guide you through the options and make practical suggestions along the way.
Chopping boards
Bespoke end grain chopping boards and butcher blocks
Every Chop board is designed and made by hand using new and old parquetry techniques. To order, I can make a board in the size, timber and pattern you choose, whether that's a 3D, chaos or chessboard design, a chunky butcher block or something entirely your own.
Any wood type, any size, any design: choose British beech, sapele, cherry, iroko or another hardwood you love, and I'll make it to suit you. A bespoke board makes a wonderful present for a wedding, anniversary or other big occasion, and it will last for generations.
Worktops
Made-to-measure end grain and hardwood worktops
I create bespoke end grain and hardwood worktops that you won't find anywhere else. Each one is made to order and made to measure, built with care, precision and the highest quality materials, so it fits your space perfectly.
Whether it's a kitchen island, a utility area or a one-off feature piece, the aim is always the same: a durable, beautifully crafted surface that will last for many years. If you've seen a style you like, I can replicate it, adapt it, or design something completely unique, from end grain to chequerboard and 3D illusion patterns.
Furniture
Custom handmade furniture
I take great pride in building custom furniture and welcome commissions of all shapes and sizes. Whether you already have a clear design in mind or just an idea you'd like to explore, I can help turn it into a piece that's both functional and beautifully made.
Working from my fully equipped Sussex workshop, I use high quality hardwoods and a mix of traditional joinery and modern techniques to make furniture that's built to last, from dining tables to garden tables and chairs.
Make it personal
Names, dates and designs, inlaid by CNC
For something truly personal, I can inlay designs, patterns, messages or images into a board, worktop or piece of furniture using my CNC. It adds a unique touch, turns any piece into a meaningful one of a kind, and makes a personalised chopping board a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift.

Commission questions
How do I start a commission?
Get in touch with your ideas, measurements and any inspiration you have. Every project starts with a conversation about what you need, the space it's for and the style you're drawn to. From there I'll suggest suitable hardwoods, refine the design with you and guide you through the options for materials, finishes and details.
What can you make to order?
Bespoke end grain chopping boards and butcher blocks in any size, timber and pattern; made-to-measure end grain and hardwood worktops for kitchens, kitchen islands and utility rooms; and custom furniture of all shapes and sizes, from dining tables to garden furniture.
What's the difference between end grain and face grain?
On an end grain chopping board, butcher block or worktop, the wood fibres point upwards, like the bristles of a brush. Your knife slips between the fibres rather than cutting across them, so end grain is kind to your knives, hides knife marks, and its fibres close back up after shallow cuts. It's also what makes 3D, chaos and chessboard patterns possible. Face grain boards show the long, flowing grain of the timber and make beautiful everyday and serving boards.
Which hardwoods can I choose from?
I use the best quality hardwoods I can carefully source, including British beech, sapele, cherry and iroko. We can explore different hardwoods together to find the right look and performance for your piece.
Can you copy a style I've seen?
Yes. If you've seen a style you like, I can replicate it, adapt it, or design something completely unique for you.
Are worktops made to measure?
Yes. All worktops are made to measure to ensure a perfect fit for your space, whether it's a kitchen island, a utility area or a one-off feature piece.
Can you add a name, date or design?
Yes. Using my CNC I can inlay designs, patterns, lettering, messages or images into boards, worktops and furniture, making a meaningful one-of-a-kind piece and a perfect personalised gift.
