From film sets to functional art
I'm a Sussex-based woodworker, and I design and make bespoke end grain chopping boards and butcher blocks from the best quality wood I can carefully source.
I trained as a set builder, making sets for TV, theatre and film. When the pandemic hit, I decided to concentrate on my love of hardwoods. Using new and old parquetry techniques, combining old and modern technology, I now create functional pieces of art that are made to last for generations.

How every board is made

Carefully sourced timber
The best hardwoods I can find for chopping boards and worktops: pure British beech, rich sapele, warm cherry (some of it from right here in Sussex) and golden iroko, each chosen to show off the natural beauty of the wood.

Old and new techniques
Traditional parquetry meets modern workshop technology. Every 3D, chaos and chessboard pattern is cut and assembled by hand, piece by piece, so no two boards are ever the same.

Made for generations
End grain is kind to your knives, and its fibres close back up after shallow cuts. Looked after properly, a Chop board will last a lifetime, and bring joy with every use.

Every project starts with a conversation: what you need, the space it's for and the style you're drawn to.
From my fully equipped workshop I build bespoke furniture using traditional joinery and modern techniques, end grain and hardwood worktops made to measure, and chopping boards in any size, timber and pattern, with names, dates or designs inlaid by CNC.
